PR Company

A small PR company, employing about 10 people, requiring to portray a large company feel to their clients and wanted to take advantage of Windows 2003 technology.

The solution was to install a new server with mirrored disks and a backup device to protect the data.  The software being installed was Windows 2003 Small Business Server with the main application utilised being Microsoft Exchange 2003.  A high speed internet connection was installed over BT ADSL.

Desktop machines were installed with Windows XP Professional and MS Office 2003. 

Laptops were setup to use a secure VPN connection so data and email could be accessed securely from any web based location wherever they were around the globe.

Research Company

A research company employing approximately 20 people needed to upgrade their whole office as it was using old cabling and Windows 95 in a workgroup environment.

The solution for this company was to install structured CAT5 cabling connected to a 10/100mbps switch.  A new server was installed, with the disks configured with RAID5, a backup device installed, and set up to run Windows 2000 Server.  The company still wanted to use their existing email server, Lotus cc:mail, so this was integrated into the new domain.  Existing leased lines were used for external connectivity.

All desktop machines, and laptops, were upgraded to Windows 2000 Professional and Office 2000.
